    Role Summary

    Do you have experience of working as an engineer for infrastructure automation focusing on automating the most repetitive, laborious tasks using a range of orchestration, PowerShell and scripting?

     

    From automating server provisioning to creating runbook for highly available solutions this role will serve as the automation specialist in the team focusing on delivering the continual service improvements. Working alongside a team of expert monitoring engineers this role will also help deliver the solutions for monitoring, reporting and analytics enabling platform & application owners to manage their services proactively and efficiently.

    Key Accountabilities

    Key accountabilities:

    • Manage the day to day maintenance of the team tools – MS TFS, Team City and System Centre 2012 (SCOM and SCORCH).

    • Leading the way in automation and best of class solutions that improve monitoring, reporting and automation capabilities.

    • Providing automation for the day to day usage of management tool framework by Service Delivery teams ensuring systems are correctly and consistently used and the continual service improvement of these tools

    • Design and deliver the mechanism for automation delivery by providing a bank or hub of code and assist towards the automation strategy.

    • Take ownership for all technical documentation and processes including maintenance plans, periodical health reviews and CSI incentives

    • Managing regular updates to ensure records are accurate including checks are performed on the Change Management Database (CMDB) and validate the integrity of platform assets by running weekly/monthly reports and ensuring appropriate changes are carried out.

    • Design and deliver monitoring and analytics solutions using a mix of Management Pack authoring and SQL presentation.

    Mandatory Requirements

    The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

    • Expert scripting experience with PowerShell, VB, WMI,  JSON
    • Deployment techs from TFS to Team City, ProGet, Chef and Azure Resource Manager.

    • Strong technical background with experience in a wide range of Server platforms/OS’s and server-side applications. (HP Servers, Microsoft Server Operating Systems – All versions)

    • Project Environment: Proven ability to deliver projects in dynamic, fast paced and challenging corporate environments.

    Optional Requirements

    It will also help your application if you can show:

     

    • Experience in SQL management, reporting, querying and table building (SSRS)

    • Experience in utilising business intelligence toolsets (Power-Bi, Power-Pivot, Power-Query)

    • Experience of using Systems Management tools. (SCOM, SCORCH, SolarWinds)
