    Role Summary

    Do you have experience of working in a senior conduct risk role?

     

    Our client, a major UK Insurer & Asset Manager is looking for a Head of Oversight, Policy and Reporting.

     

    This role is about leading a small sub-team with the aim of ensuring all reports to governance forums are accurate, timely, precise and appropriate for their target audience whilst also ensuring all policies for which the Group Conduct Risk Director is responsible for are fit for purpose, easy to understand, well-communicated / cascaded and accessible.  

     

    The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to regulatory briefings and regulatory engagement and also develop briefing papers on UK and non-UK regulatory matters. Use of technology to evolve reporting and policy management capability is essential.

     

    Key Accountabilities

    Reporting directly to the Programme Manager you will be primarily accountable for:

     

    • Reporting: Drafting and overseeing the drafting of high quality, right first time reports to governance forums for the Group Conduct Risk Manager.   Ensuring reports are accurate, risk based, appropriately targeted for the relevant audience / committee and insightful.
    • Policy Framework: Managing and overseeing the policy framework on behalf of the Group Conduct Risk Director, ensuring that each individual policy is appropriately calibrated from a risk perspective in terms of the minimum standards it requires, is well drafted and easy to understand. 
    • Secretariat:  Oversee the provision of secretariat services to the Conduct Risk Oversight Committee and the Conduct Functional Leadership Committee.  
    • Briefing: Draft insightful, knowledgeable, challenging and accurate briefings for the Group Conduct Risk Director or other senior leaders in the Group Risk Function, as required.  
    • Stakeholder Management:  The role holder will liaise and proactively engage with the Group Regulatory Risk Director on all of the above activities, as their line manager.  The role holder will also proactively engage with other stakeholders across Conduct Risk, other Risk functions and other functions and divisions across the Group.   
    • People Leadership:  Leading a small team; encouraging and contributing to their development in terms of technical knowledge, skills required and broader risk knowledge.

    Mandatory Requirements

    Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

    • Interpersonal: Good communication skills both written and verbal,  specifically, drafting of reports & papers that are concise and insightful.
    • Knowledge: Strong UK regulatory compliance knowledge & strong European regulatory knowledge.  Awareness of relevant geo-political & political activities.

    Optional Requirements

    The following skills and experience will also be beneficial to your application:

     

    • Industry experience: Insurance or more broadly financial services.
