Project Summary

Do you have experience of providing Project Management expertise, on business-related projects from initial requirements gathering through to implementation?
 
This consulting opportunity is to support our client (a leading consumer electronics company), working with large cross functional teams to design and set up new businesses and their related infrastructure in emerging markets.  
 
The project needs a consultant who has:
  • Experience of delivering multiple complex business-focused projects and programmes in ambiguous and fast-paced environments
  • Strong stakeholder management experience ideally across multiple geographies
  • A collaborative, flexible, open working style and an ability to establish trust and credibility quickly.

This role will be best suited to a consultant who is used to working in smaller teams, with a hands-on approach.  

Key Areas of Work

The key services that you'll be asked to provide are: 

 

  • Leading projects & programmes from initiation to implementation within agreed constraints of time, budget and quality

  • Managing relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure business requirements are effectively captured and stakeholders are committed to the project objectives

  • Shaping solutions and ensuring that business requirements are effectively captured

  • Identifying and clarifying cross -functional business requirements (Legal, Tax, Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Service & Support)

  • Resolving or escalating identified risks and issues

  • Ensuring that impacts and changes resulting from other projects/programmes are effectively communicated to the business.

Mandatory Skills/Experience

Successful consultants will be able to demonstrate the following: 

 

  • Deep working knowledge of project/programme management in a multi-disciplined and commercial matrix environment

  • Stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills and ability to identify and escalate issues

  • Ability to understand and manage project risks dealing with uncertainty, whilst being proactive, forward-looking and having an excellent eye for detail

  • Understanding of core business objectives and drivers.

Optional Skills/Experience

It will also be advantageous if you have:

 

  • Previous experience in a top tier consulting firm or in emerging markets
  • Understanding of Sales / Distribution models and /or Retail environment.
